To develop cell group leaders is becoming a great oportunity to send willing people to do the Great Comission, but in the anxious to win our world for Christ we have misunderstood the meanning of the Great Comission: "Go and make disciples... teaching them all the things I tought you".

How we can to avoid cell group leaders with very lack doctrine?

How we can to be sure that every one who become a cell group leader has been able to teach regularly sane doctrine?

The "microwave age" that we are living is teaching us that we can develope leaders very fast, but, is it true?

Not Jesus invested around three years to teach and equip His disciples? Not they must wait to receive power from the Holy Spirit to reach their world for Jesus?

I'd have to wholeheartedly agree with Redsalt. If you are in deep relationship with future leaders BEFORE you release them in a group of their own, you will know if they will take the group into heretical teaching or stay on track with your church's vision and mission and theological stance on various issues.

It's all about deep relationships. Without them, cell groups are just chaotic or yet another program in which people do what they like for as long as they like.

IMHO (in my humble opinion) it would be the responsibility of the lead pastor(s) to make sure the person that they are placing as a Cell Leader is qualified and secure enough in their theology before they are installed.

The idea of "microwave discipleship" is and can be a common thing among any church wanting to move people into leadership but it doesn't have to be something for your church. Even if you waited 3 year (as Jesus did) to take someone from salvation to leadership you still would reach more people than most any other church. The reason for that is you are concerned enough to not just have converts but you are willing to make disciples. And that is a great thing!

The point with any of this is that we are not simply just raising up leaders for raising up leaders but, that we would have Jesus shining in and through them so that others would see Jesus and follow Him.
