Church conferences: gone for good?
June Friday 11 2010
For years, traveling to conferences was the cool thing to do for pastors. When the recession hit, it was the very first thing to be nixed from a church's budget. The bad economy and the fact that so much information can be gathered over the web from articles, blogs, ebooks, and virtual conferences (video chat) that there's just not nearly as much desire to travel and be a part of an event to learn and get excited about a particular area of ministry.Because of these things combining to create the perfect storm for off-site conferences and training, TOUCH is moving forward to meet pastors in their homes or offices. We'll be providing online seminars that are interactive and archived for future generations of pastors to watch.
We also just posted a new digital edition of our Making Cell Groups Work Pastor's Seminar, which has links to the audio so you can listen to them on your phone, iPod, or computer at your own pace. This event was free for pastors in Houston last year, but they still had to pay for airfare, lodging, food, and local transportation. If you think about it, this digital edition is a steal!
If you have a specific set of questions you'd like answered in future webinars, do share them with us so we can respond to you!
