MAKING CELL GROUPS WORK IN YOUR CHURCH: How to Design and Launch a Cell Group Ministry that Works for You

To the right you will find the various training events we offer. Peruse the pages to see what on-site training we could bring to your church to strengthen your small group or cell group ministry. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or wish to see if a particular date is available.

Our Consulting Services:
We have not found two churches to be alike... they're all as individual as a snowflake. This means your cell ministry is not going to look like other church's cell ministries because they do not have the same history, leadership, or challenges that you face.

What does this mean for you and your church? You can't simply do what another church did or follow their path into cell ministry. You must chart a course of your own, and quite often, an outside source such as one of our capable consultants can make all the difference in the world.

Numerous church leadership teams have brought in a TOUCH consultant to help them discover areas of weakness in existing cell group ministry, or to help the team determine the next step in transition to cell groups. Our consultants do not prescribe one way of doing cells, but offer guidance and consideration to the unique environment in which you minister.

The consulting process is as follows:

  1. An inquiry is made by the senior pastor of a local church. While basic information can be supplied by a staff pastor, elder or deacon, our consultant needs to speak with the senior pastor directly to determine the commitment level of the pastor.
  2. After what is usually a 30-60 minute phone conversation to discuss your church's current condition, if we feel we can help you we will schedule a day of consulting no less than 3-4 weeks in the future. If we do not feel we can be of assistance, we'll tell you this at that time and refer you to others who can be helpful. (Just so you'll know, we do turn down consulting opportunities from time to time ... we know our areas of expertise well and have no desire to waste your church's money and time.)
  3. We then send you an assessment tool that you will distribute to 30 key leaders, staff members. The assessments must be collected and sent to our consultant for analysis. While we make no assumptions with the findings of this tool, the assessment does give us a good indication of what may be going right and/or wrong with your church's transition or existing cell group ministry. (All indicators are reviewed with the senior pastor via telephone before the consulting day to insure they are valid.)
  4. When the day of consulting arrives, it is usually a full day with up to 8 key leaders from your church, and must include the senior pastor. The day consists of open discussions of your church's current strengths and weaknesses. It also includes a brief overview of an excellent transition process to help your team determine if each stage was fully embraced or if parts were left out or done poorly. Then, the remainder of the time is based on a go-forward strategy for your church's cell group ministry, which will be very unique to your church.

Schedule of Events:
Consulting is scheduled around each church's individual needs and desires, but we highly recommend one 8-hour day together with your team the first time we work with you. If additional days of consulting are required, they can be scheduled at a later time.

Many churches combine a day of consulting with a second day of cell leader training, or cell group strategic planning on a Saturday, preaching on Sunday morning, etc. While these events do carry their own costs, we are happy to provide broader help to a local church beyond the consulting time together.

Where and When it all happens:
Consulting is offered on-site at your church or retreat center with a maximum of 8 of your church leaders or staff. (Larger groups do not allow for interaction and we offer private training for larger groups. Call for details.)

Costs Involved:
$1500 per 8-hour day. After a telephone interview and the completion of an assessment tool we will send you to use with your team, we will help you determine if on-site consulting will be necessary. This rate does not include the costs of travel, lodging, meals or expenses for the consultant.
